LOAN ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY:

The position of Loan Administration Specialist is responsible for gathering credit information on current and potential borrowers; promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.  The Loan Administration Specialist assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations, understands, communicates, and works to achieve the mission of the Bank.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assist loan officers in performing pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
  • Assist loan officers in gathering data from customers, internal and external sources; prepares spreadsheets and analyzes financial information including financial statements and tax returns; contacts customers for additional information and clarification of data.
  • Compiles data from credit bureaus, conducts industry peer comparisons and performs other such tasks and comparisons.
  • Assists loan officers in coordinating processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies, obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans.
  • Maintains tickler reports. Inputs financial reporting updates into cash-on-track.  Troubleshoots issues as they arise.
  • Documents receipt of financial requirements.
  • Informs loan officers when up-to-date financial statements are needed for commercial accounts; ensures credit inquires are researched to determine credit worthiness and appropriate collateral positioning are achieved.
  • Operates computer terminal or personal computer to obtain and process data.
  • Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
  • Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

COMPETENCIES/EDUCATION:

One to three years’ experience in credit analysis. Associate’s degree and/or banking experience equivalent to fulfill requirements of the position.

COMMERCIAL LOAN OFFICER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for marketing underwriting, structuring, and the closing of commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing existing portfolio.  Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority within the bank. This position represents the bank in local community through active participation in local community affairs and participates in marketing all of the bank’s products and services. The position understands, communicates, and works to achieve the mission of the Bank and assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, applicable state and federal banking regulations.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Originate and service a variety of commercial loans.
  • Interview applicants to gain information as to the financial viability of the client...
  • Follow-up on current loans to ensure compliance with internal procedures and other required terms.
  • Provide necessary assistance to potential and present customers who are seeking loans involving unsecured funds and credit secured.
  • At the highest level, gives advice and counsel to customers.
  • Makes recommendations on financial and organizational structure, locations, and other matters; visits plant or company sites as required.
  • Makes decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits, or refers these issues to management.
  • Underwrite, perform credit analysis and complete write ups.
  • Responsible for developing new and maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Participate in self-improvement by obtaining additional training to further knowledge, and understanding.
  • Greet internal and external customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
  • Insure that internal and external customers receive outstanding service.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs, or assigned by management.
  • Complete compliance and product knowledge assignments in a timely manner.

ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of loan documentation.
  • Above average ability and aptitude in the areas of reasoning, intelligence, and numerical perception.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good listening, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, thorough, concise manner and to articulate clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Three to five years’ experience in Commercial Lending. Bachelor’s degree and/or banking experience equivalent to fulfill requirements of the position.
